Too often I see the decision be made only by one of the stakeholders (e.g. IT) only to see that others are not happy with it.

So it has to be company's data goals, not goals of IT or data teams or business.

And the data observability is a nightmare to solve for an existing solution. So leverage the green-field situation to set it up for success.
